Stage Parents to be Staged in GMA's Anak Ko Yan Talent Search

GMA Network has already been preparing for their newest reality talent search entitled Anak Ko Yan. To be hosted by Jennylyn Mercado, Anak Ko Yan will feature kids from 7-17 years old who will showcase their talents. The twist is: their stage parents will be highlighted as well.

In the field of performing arts, stage parents are those who accompany their children while the latter do their showbiz duties. They're usually the managers of their own children and most of them are the source of pressure for their children.

While their actions are honorable, there have been prejudices towards stage parents. That even when they are there to push their children for success, it's actually their own dreams that didn't get fulfilled that they're trying to have materialized through their children.

Will this nuisance also be evident in the show? Or will it all the more inspire more parents to push their children be what the latter would want to be?

Diary of a Stage Mother's Daughter: A Memoir

Set to be aired in daytime and most probably against the already strong daytime lineup of ABS-CBN, the bigger question is: will Anak Ko Yan be strong enough to go against its competing shows?

Solving Every Puzzle with The Bourne Collection Blu-ray

The Bourne Identity (2002), The Bourne Supremacy (2004), The Bourne Ultimatum (2007), The Bourne Legacy (2012).
Cast: Matt Damon, Julia Stiles, Clive Owen, Joan Allen, Jeremey Renner, Rachelle Weiss, Edward Norton

Robert Ludlum the author and mastermind of the fast paced action packed thriller The Bourne Collection series lets the audience grab on tightly to their seat with every action scene. The story unfolds as Jason Bourne (Matt Damon) suffers from severe memory loss and tries to find out his true identity.

In getting to know more facts he faces trouble from the CIA and local authorities. The adrenaline rush alleviates with the movie’s parkour –inspired fight scenes, the idea of real stunts with no special effects just makes the experience surreal.
The movie series is definitely not for the weak at heart, it definitely wants you to experience the brutal life of an assassin. The emotions portrayed by each character involved gives uncertainty on what the next move will the protagonist make.
The film has shown realism on conspiracy in the US government CIA department. As the film deepens the mystery begins to unravel but never reveals the truth, keeping the audience hooked to the outcome.
This film has put Matt Damon’s career to another level in action films. He is not known for his James Bond charisma or his Chuck Norris’ karate skills, but he puts the A in Action Films. The A is defined as attention. By being as human as possible Jason Bourne’s character really catches the attention and emotion of the audience.
Doug Liman& Paul Greengrass has done splendid work by not making the film a boring one. This is not the typical spy-thriller film that deals with debate amongst characters until the end. The key is to not make the audience take their eyes & ears off the screen because every scene counts.
Buy the Blu-ray or DVD of The Bourne Trilogy at Amazon now!

The fourth installation in the Bourne Collection series in which Matt Damon chose not to participate was a bit timid from its predecessors. It featured Jeremey Renner as the replacement to Jason Bourne’s character but continued the plot. A lot of the Bourne Collection fans were dismayed by Matt Damon’s absence in the film.
Tony Gilroy, the director of the fourth part of the Bourne Collection series has made a different twist to the story yet acknowledging the previous plot of the Jason Bourne story. This is kind of an innovative approach to the Bourne Collection series as it takes place in Manila. It still adapts the relentless action and mystery that keep you wanting to watch more. Although the film is quite a bit short in story depth and thrills, it is still a must watch and an addition to better understand the relevance of the Bourne Collection story. This is one piece of the puzzle you would want to have, the character still share the same realism and charisma to all Bourne Collection series fans and action film lovers. I will definitely purchase this series now that I am intrigued with the development of the movie.

Party Pilipinas To Stage Its Final Episode Next Sunday

Party Pilipinas will be axed after next Sunday's episode entitled Take A Bow. Mainstay Ogie Alcasid announced in the last segment of their episode today.

Ogie Alcasid, with the whole cast of Party Pilipinas on stage with him, said that today was the last episode of Team A, Mark Reyes and crew, and next Sunday would be Team B's last episode, Rico Gutierrez and his crew.

In the past days, fans have been talking about this after a column in a newspaper came out that GMA Network will cancel three shows from their Sunday afternoon slot. The two other shows that the article talked about were HOT TV, axed already, and Teen Gen-- the comeback of TGIS.

What's next for GMA Sunday noontime?

Our guess, GMA Network Entertainment group is yet again reformatting it to get rid of unnecessary artists. Our guess, the network will highlight the younger generation of divas and famous singers with the likes of Christian Bautista and Julie Anne San Jose to be the banner bearer of the new show. The problem with Party Pilipinas is that it still lives in the shadow of SOP which they say "pinaglumaan."

Bank deposits to India within 24 hours. Since the veterans have lost their charisma over a fresher audience, the network may have decided to offer a fresher flavor, a more relevant one at that.

Here's one hoping that there will still be a Sunday competition after it gets axed. ASAP is excellent but the network has to challenge it to up the quality of Sunday viewing.

Final word: Party Pilipinas kudos for revolutionizing the quality of production numbers as far as Team B is concerned.

Will Skylight Films' Bromance Fly after My Cactus Heart Flopped?

Even fans of Maja Salvador, Matteo Guidecelli, and Xian Lim can attest that Skylight Films' My Cactus Heart was not only a flop gross-wise, it was also a flop movie-wise.

I don't know what has gotten into the minds of the movie crew but this movie featured a bizarre Matteo Guidecelli in a really bad way. In this movie, he proved that he couldn't act at that time and that all he could do was delivery his lines in a very corny way. That's our biggest complaint! Maja was not ready for this film. But Xian Lim already proved early on that he could act and deliver his role well even when it's an insignificant role. The story was good but storytelling was bad. Too bad sleep was something I preferred during the movie.

Here's how this movie scored according to Box Office Mojo's final tally.

Having said this, The Outsider is quite interested in how Bromance will score. It's still Skylight Films but with a new director this time, blockbuster director this time.

Will Skylight Films be able to pull off another attempt at partnering with Star Cinema? Without putting another flop movie to the very short list of Star Cinema's flop films? Let's see!

Kettle Korn: Poppin’ Fun All The Time!

It's not really easy to wake up one morning and realize that you're a movie star now. What more, your own story is featured. Since it's the election 'bisperas' today, I'd like to imagine starring in my own doomsdayish-socio-political-satirical comedy film. I'd like to call it "The Outsider."

The story begins with Mr. Peluka, a nuisance presidential candidate for four elections in a row and this year after preparing everything, has now passed to be an official candidate. Because election in the Philippines has become too dirty, every strong candidate for presidency made their own plans to get rid of the other stronger candidates. All of them had each candidate planning for their death on the day of elections. All of them were successful. All of them died. The nation has to have a president.

Because Mr. Peluka wasn't viewed as a threat at all, nobody planned to kill him at all. And because all other strong and worthy candidates died out of their selfish and evil motives, the nation is left with only one official candidate--Mr. Peluka. All of these events and the ones that led to his victory are documented by none other than The Outsider-- the writer who will then write the biggest part of Philippine history ever to date.

The Outsider details how Mr. Peluka became an official candidate from being a nuisance. And expresses how he despises Mr. Peluka's unplanned victory. But at the end of the day, The Outsider shares the biggest lesson of all time in Philippine politics that would then change every voters' values: better a weird man with pure heart than strong, highly experienced, opinionated candidates with evil desires.

Wow! I don't know if that movie plot will ever make sense. But I'm sure it would be one movie I'd go with my Kettle Korn snacks poppin' fun all time. With all the frustrating parts of the story, the best comfort I could get would be a poppin' fun all time Kettle Korn. Thanks to its sweet flavor!

Snippets From #MyJapsItsMyTimeConcert

Ongoing now is the #MyJapsItsMyTimeConcert at the Music Museum. With more than a thousand seats all filled in, we ask: Is it really Julie Anne San Jose's time now?

While we celebrate the active concert scene from Regine Velasquez's double treat then to Daniel Padilla's phenomenal gathering, this time it's Julie Anne San Jose's turn. But with just a thousand plus seats filled in, is it really enough to say that she's conquered the concert scene as well?

The only reason why we're posing this question is this: SHE DESERVES A BIGGER AND BETTER ARENA both physically and figuratively. Her recording company and talent management should reassess their efforts to give her what she deserves especially after this successful mini-concert.

If for anything, let's just say this concert is just a preview to the BIGGER concerts she deserves to have.

Here's a collage of photos from the concert taken from her fans' tweets. Couldn't give credit to everyone but thanks a lot MyJaps fans for these photos.

Solenn Heussaff Dies in Indio as Lalahon

Lalahon dies in Indio!

The diwata of volcanoes character of Solenn Heussaff in Indio died in last night's episode allowing her to pass on the diwata power of volcano to Simeon, Bong Revilla Jr.'s character.

Now that she's done with her role in Indio, what's next for Solenn Heussaff telebabad-wise? She can play a really good bad role against Lovi Poe in a teleserye. Despite her weakness in Filipino language and acting, her countless endorsements prove her bankability. Something that GMA Network must consider to allow her to land a big role on primetime. A bigger role than a diwata who only shows up in little scenes.

Watch the dying scene below.
